About
From San Francisco, CA to Brooklyn, NY. With a stop in Paris in between.
The daughter of a Japan-born father and a New Yorker mother, I was raised in the Bay Area on a steady diet of farmer’s market produce, miso soup and rice, and homemade ice cream. Commitments to buying thoughtfully, cooking often, and eating well are cherished values both my parents shared, inspiring me to live a conscientious lifestyle from an early age, and to pursue a food-related education and career.
Since graduating from Sarah Lawrence College (French and Contemporary Dance concentrations), I’ve represented restaurant and hospitality clientele at various public relations agencies, created original content for Eater.com, worked alongside Chefs Jody Williams and Rita Sodi at Via Carota, and helped write a cookbook for healthy and wholesome eating. I’m currently working towards my master’s degree in Food Studies at New York University, concentrating on media and culture.
Food styling is my latest endeavor, combining two things I love: food & art. My studies in French food culture and dance in Paris deeply inform my work, and I welcome any opportunity I get to return to France.
After hours, you can find me in the studio expressing myself in new ways through my limbs and torso, or out and about in New York City sharing good food with friends or internet strangers.
